In the 1978 Chicago exhibition catalogue, Marandel believes it to be a scene from Hamlet. However, we persist in thinking that it is a mythological scene depicting a minotaur abducting young men. The character on the right has the body of a man and the head of a bull and is holding a young person in his arms.
This theme is confirmed in the drawing Mythologic Scene, where a minotaur can be seen very clearly at the top of the drawing.
