It is difficult to relate this drawing to any of the three paintings at Aigues-Mortes. In this case, it is the Tour de Villeneuve, which is located at the northeast corner of the ramparts. In the re-edition of his thesis in 1992, Daulte confuses this pencil drawing, which is part of the album RF 5259, with another pen drawing whose provenance is unknown. This mistake is also made, incidentally, by Sarraute, 1948, appendix n° 13.
